How to install a hand saw

1. The structure of the hand saw The hand saw is composed of a saw bow and a saw blade. The saw bow is used to install the saw blade, and it has two types: adjustable and fixed. The fixed saw bow can only be installed with a saw blade of one length, and the adjustable saw bow can be installed with several lengths of saw blades through adjustment, and the shape of the saw handle of the adjustable saw bow is convenient for force. So it is widely used now.

2. The correct selection of saw blades, saw blades have fine teeth (1.1mm), medium teeth (1.4mm), and coarse teeth (1.8mm) according to the size of the tooth pitch of the teeth. When using, it should be selected according to the hardness and thickness of the sawed material. When sawing soft materials (such as copper, bronze, etc.) and thick materials, a coarse-toothed saw blade should be used; when sawing hard materials or thin materials (such as tool steel, alloy steel, etc.), a fine-toothed saw blade should be used. Generally speaking, for sawing thin materials, there should be at least three gears on the sawing section that can participate in sawing at the same time, so as to avoid the teeth being hooked and cracked.

3. Sharpening of saw teeth: Triangular files are generally used for the sharpening of hand saws. According to the size of the tooth shape, a triangular file of 4 to 6 inches (10-15.25cm) can be selected. 4-inch (about 10cm) triangular file for fine-tooth saw; 5-inch (about 12.5cm) triangular file for medium-tooth saw; 6-inch (about 15.25cm) triangular file for coarse-tooth saw.
