Two common problems in air compressor applications
During the application of the air compressor, some problems often occur. This is normal. As long as you pay attention to some of the small details, the probability of the air compressor having problems is much smaller. Here I will tell you about the air Two common problems in compressor applications are described below.
1. The oil scraper ring is not installed correctly
In the repair of single-acting air compressors, repairers often do not pay attention to the assembly direction of the oil scraper ring, resulting in mis-installation: most of these air compressors are splash lubricated, but the amount of oil splashed on the working surface of the cylinder is not easy to control. If too much lubricating oil enters the cylinder, coupled with the low flash point of the lubricating oil, it will not only increase the consumption of lubricating oil, but also easily form carbon deposits in the exhaust valve, passage and ring groove, etc., which will affect the normal operation of the equipment; If too much lubricating oil enters the air system and cannot be discharged in time, when the mixed gas of air and oil vapor reaches a certain concentration ratio, it may cause over-burning and explosion. Therefore, the assembly direction of the oil scraper ring must be correct, otherwise it will not function as it should. At the same time, in order to make the scraped oil flow back to the crankcase smoothly and not accumulate in the cylinder, there are corresponding oil return holes on the piston at the lower part of the oil scraping ring, so that the lubricating oil can be returned to the crankcase at the same time.
2. Wrong selection of lubricating oil model
The lubricating oil used for the air compressor cylinder adopts the SYB1216-60S standard and the compressor oil with the grades of HS-13 and HS-19. From the perspective of viscosity, HS-19 lubricating oil is generally used in summer, and HS-13 lubricating oil is used in winter. However, some operators do not pay attention to the selection of cylinder lubricating oil, thinking that no matter summer or winter, as long as lubricating oil is available. If HS-13 lubricating oil is used in summer, due to the high ambient temperature, the temperature of the cylinder of the air compressor is relatively high, which reduces the viscosity of the lubricating oil. Conducive to the sealing of the cylinder, easy to leak and increase energy consumption. Similarly, if HS-19 lubricating oil is used in winter, its viscosity is too large, which is good for sealing, but increases the movement resistance of the air compressor piston ring and the resistance of the gas flowing through the valve passage, which increases the energy consumption of the compressor. Therefore, the cylinder lubricating oil must be replaced in time with seasonal changes.
