What blade widths are available in this listing?

Answer:

We offer six different flat-head blade widths: 1mm, 1.5mm, 2mm, 2.5mm, 3mm, and 5mm. You can select your preferred size from the variant options above. Each purchase includes one blade of the chosen width. The handle is not included – this is a replacement blade set.

2. Question:

What is the difference between this flat-head blade and the pointed scribing blade?

Answer:

The pointed blade (0.1–0.5mm) is designed for creating fine panel lines and detailed grooves. The flat-head blade (1–5mm) is wider and designed for broad groove cutting, surface scraping, and removing large areas of material. It is ideal for widening existing panel lines, creating shallow recessed areas, or smoothing flat surfaces on model parts.

What material are these blades made of? Are they durable?

Answer:

All blades are manufactured from premium tungsten steel (hard alloy), offering exceptional hardness (HRA 82–93.6) and wear resistance. They stay sharp much longer than ordinary high-carbon steel blades, resist chipping and dulling, and maintain cutting precision even after repeated use on plastic and resin materials.

4. Question:

Is this blade compatible with the handle from the Model Scriber Tool Set?

Answer:

Yes. This flat-head blade uses the same universal collet connection as the pointed blades in our Model Scriber Tool Set. It is fully compatible with the aviation-aluminum handle included in that set. If you already own that handle, you can simply swap blades without purchasing a new handle.

What types of models and materials is this blade suitable for?

Answer:

This flat-head blade works cleanly on PS, ABS, resin, and most common model plastics. It is widely used for Gundam kits, cars, aircraft, ships, and resin figures – ideal for widening panel lines, creating shallow grooves, removing seams, and surface detailing.

6. Question:

How should I maintain and store the blade?

Answer:

Clean the blade with a soft cloth to remove plastic debris after each use. Avoid dropping the tool, as the tungsten steel tip may chip or crack under impact. Store the blade in a dry place, preferably in a protective case or pouch, to prevent dulling and accidental contact.
