How to use
Lightly pencil in your line, or lay low-tack tape alongside it as a straightedge guide.
Holding the scriber almost flat to the surface, draw it toward you with light pressure — two or three shallow passes always beat one deep cut.
Keep the tip square to the line of travel so both walls of the groove stay even.
Brush away the swarf, then pass fine-grit sandpaper very lightly over the area to remove raised burrs.
Prime, paint, then apply your panel line wash — it will now flow cleanly and settle into the groove instead of smearing.

Tips & care
Scribe before you paint — always. Let the tool do the work: pressing hard only invites a wandering line and work-hardened plastic. Take your time and repeat shallow passes rather than forcing one deep cut. Protect the tip when not in use and store it where the point cannot knock against other tools; the working edge is sharp and brittle. Keep out of reach of children, and use under adult supervision.
